If you caught the Grammy’s Sunday, Feb. 4 you would have seen that Taylor Swift won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. As she was giving her speech, she dropped a secret she had been keeping for two years straight.
“My brand-new album comes out April 19. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage,” she said in her thank you speech.
On Swift’s Instagram, she had two posts of her new album cover with captions reading “All’s fair in the love and poetry.”
She even put the album’s name and release date in her bio. Taylor Swift has sold an estimated amount of 114 million album units worldwide, and she was this year’s most-streamed artist globally on Spotify, getting more than 26.1 billion global streams on the platform since Jan. 1. That’s just on Spotify, it’s not including Apple Music, or her YouTube music videos.
Taylor Swift’s fans are excited about Swift’s new album drop. Junior Rylee Burris is one fan in particular who is very excited. Burris’s favorite song by Taylor Swift is currently “Fearless” which happens to be in the album “Fearless” as well.
Many people who are not Swifties wonder why they love her so much, the why for Burris is because “She is a women’s icon.” Burris is not the only one who feels this way.
Another so-called Swiftie hit the Internet with “relatable” content about what they thought the secret of Swift would be while they were watching the Grammys.
It was a TikTok of the content creator by the name of Carter Kench wearing a snake consume with the caption that reads “When Taylor was supposed to drop Reputation TV but announces a WHOLE NEW ALBUM instead.”
It has Kench happy while clapping his hands, then suddenly he takes off the costume snake head that he’s wearing with the audio saying “Oh, oh, oh.” Showing that it took him by surprise along with his fans according to his comment sections.
Swift’s new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ will be released on April 19th.
