Gwen Duncan is a sophomore who has been going to PCHS for quite some time now. She started her sports journey early in life, while she was in school. Not only does she go to school she also plays softball and she does some wrestling. She has played JV softball both years so far for the school playing outfield and catcher.
“This was my first year wrestling and at the end of the year Coach Burress suggested that I should wrestle,” Duncan said.
After hearing this news Duncan was feeling a couple of emotions.
“Even though I considered it, I was really nervous.” Along with that, she started saying how even though she does these sports they didn’t really affect her grades that much at all. She has a good method of study and she knows how to keep her grades up and in check.
She says that she likes to play softball because it’s a good release for a lot of energy, and she just loves to play. She doesn’t know what she likes about wrestling yet because she just started, but she thinks that she will like it a lot.
She talks about how she has to drop down weight occasionally or she will have to gain it rapidly just to make weight for the matches.
Ducan does other things than just sports, she also likes to bake, draw, and read. Some of the things she likes to bake are cookies. She even has her own sort of small business where she bakes cookies and sells them to people who have enough money.
