With the fall season coming, students are adopting fall habits to their everyday lives. Some are preparing for fall with their activities, drinks, and jobs. Nora McCoy and Brayden Eschliman are both working fall-spirited jobs in the community.
With September finally here, people are welcoming the fall season with open arms. McCoy works at a cafe called Hayley’s Eatery. employees have already started preparing to make their new fall drinks and food.
“We do certain things for the fall time, like specialty drinks and foods,” McCoy said. “We’ll always have pumpkin spice and we do apple cider lattes. The owner makes all of our pastries from scratch, so she’ll make a bunch of fun fall pastries.“ McCoy is feeling the fall excitement spread into her workplace.
“I enjoy making coffee. I am the barista so I think having new drinks, some interesting ones, is going to be fun.”
Also in Weston, Eschliman is setting up for fall at Red Barn Farm.
“We just make sure all of our equipment is working well, the animals get fed, people get what they want, and [we] restock.”
Apple picking starts at the end of August and continues through mid-September, or until picked out, which is when they are the busiest. However, pumpkins are not the only fall attraction bringing people in.
“People really like going to see the animals and doing the hay rides to go get pumpkins,” Eschliman said. The Red Barn Farm has a variety of animals ranging from cattle to ducks, but Eschliman’s favorite animal to work with is the goats.
This is just a small glimpse of what Weston has to offer this fall. Another festivity to look forward to is the Apple Fest held in Weston, starting October 5. Swing by the Red Barn Farm, grab a drink at Hayley’s, and enjoy the new season because this fall has something exciting and interesting for everyone.
