Homecoming season is just around the corner and Platte County Pirates prepare to decorate their halls in wonderful and bright colors this year. The theme is road trip and each grade has a destination. Homecoming decorations will be set to blow everyone’s mind and the creation of the theme of the homecoming halls. The students will have a great experience and time decorating the halls as a team.
On Sunday, Oct. 8 you are allowed to decorate from 1pm to 6pm. Students are encouraged to use black, white and orange for a united pirate feel. There will be a paper cart available while decorating. Each grade will need to find 10 students who will commit to clean up after themselves at the end of the week. Decorating must be done by 6pm that day and if you want to repair something it should be done before or after school.
One expectation that you must follow is no covering windows or floors. Sponsors also want you to be safe.
“Don’t fall off the ladders,” said STUCO sponsor Kyle Perkins.
Each grade all has their own theme for their homecoming hallway. Seniors are doing beach and their theme will make you feel like your walking into a sunny, sand, surfing island. Next up the juniors they are doing “City.” They will make you feel like your walking through tall magical, sky blue buildings. The sophomores are going to be doing “Safari.” They will take you on an adventure to the wild. Freshmen are going to be doing “Mountains” which will transport you to a beautiful and cold area leading to the wonderful mountains. Last but not least we have the teachers they will be doing “Ranch” which will lead you to the wild, with amazing sound of wind and cowboys giving you a country vibe.
So, Pirates, get ready to be amazed and mind blown as grades transform their plain and boring old halls and walls into a colorful road trip experience.
