It’s not so secret anymore, word has gone around about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce secretly dating each other. Sep 24, Taylor Swift was spotted in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium laughing and chatting with the player’s mom, Donna Kelce, in their private suite, wearing red to support the winning team and to support her new potential lover.
Back in July when the Era’s Tour visited Kansas City, Kelce was spotted at Swift’s concert, intending to give her a friendship bracelet along with the football star’s number Rumors ran around about the two saying that they have been seeing each other in secret but just as friends, but the two have been silent and trying to keep their personal life on low since Swift doesn’t use social media as much as Kelce does. A week after Swift was spotted at the Chiefs game the Kelce brothers spoke of the rumors going around on their podcast called “New Heights”. Kelce does show that he has an interest in the star, but quickly shuts down the talk saying wants to keep everything quiet and has respect for Swift and Kelce’s personal life.
Just a few days after the football game, Kelce’s football jerseys have skyrocketed in sales by 400%, and ticket prices to upcoming Chiefs games have doubled.
On Oct 1, Taylor Swift was spotted again at another Chiefs game against the Jets, along with Sophie Turner, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman at the MetLife Stadium. Fans were going insane again to see the pop star at another Chiefs game.
Their relationship has left many to question if it is real or part of a publicity stunt.
“I feel like the whole thing with Taylor and Travis is like a contract… I don’t feel like it’s real at all like it’s set up,” said sophomore Gabriel Miller.
Whether or not people think the rumors are fake or real, many recognize the impact it has had on viewership.
“I think Taylor has made an impact on football because someone that everyone loves is there to show support, but I also don’t get it because she doesn’t revolve around football so it’s a little weird,” said sophomore Saige Dickens.
