Members of the boys swim team keep breaking their own records. The two leaders continuously breaking their own records are Deacon Gutshall and Palmer Keith. Both Gutshall and Keith have broken their record over six times each. They both have a strict routine on how they achieve this level of athleticism.
“My average day of training consists of waking up in the morning and swimming with my dad. Then I will go to school and lift weights there,” Gusthall said. “After school I will go to High school practice, from 3:00 to 5:30. After that I will go home and eat a lot then if I have time I will lift some more.”
To be the best athletes they can be Gusthall and Keith usually eat a lot of carbs.
“[I eat] Chipotle, lots of rice. A burrito and a bowl filled to the brim with rice.” Keith said.
Both Gusthall and Keith have the same workout routine route but they have different diets before a meet .
“I usually have noodles and chicken before a meet, and then caffeine 30 minutes before the meet,” Gutshall said.
