Tug Thornton is a Senior at Platte County High school. He enjoys playing soccer, sleeping, college football, and playing with his pet dogs, Bella and Charlie. This summer he spent his summer at soccer summer workouts but more importantly Missouri Boys State! This program offered by the American Legion is a unique opportunity for Missouri’s brightest to collaborate with each other and create their own government. The significance of this program is because it allowed Tug to find his newfound passion, Journalism! After attending the journalism school at Missouri Boys State his newfound passion can be fully reached by striving to achieve a successful career in journalism at the Missouri School of Journalism offered by the University of Missouri
