The annual Restaurant Week starts this Friday. The dates are Jan. 12-21, 2024. It’s when food is cheaper at restaurants in the KC and surrounding areas. It’s a way to help local restaurants and businesses during the typically slower month of January for sales. This is their biggest year ever, with 226 restaurants participating. The 10-day dining event provides a perfect opportunity to savor exclusive menus from hot new restaurants you’ve been meaning to try and return to a few familiar favorites.
The participating restaurants range from classic BBQ to Mexican, and Asian noodles. The lunches are usually 2-3 courses and the dinners are all 3-4 courses. Muilt-course brunch, lunch, and dinner menus are available in three price tiers: $20, $40 $50. On the Kansas City Restaurant Week website there is a drop-down menu where you can choose the cuisine you like, how you would like to pick it up, and any specialty menu for allergies. It helps narrow down the options for different restaurants and find the one you want.
For every sale that is made, 10% of it will go to three local charities. Those charities are Kanbe’s Markets, Visit KC Foundation, and GKCRA Education Foundation. Ever since Visit KC Foundation and GKCRA Education Foundation founded Restaurant Week in 2010, in its first 14 years it has made over 3.3 million for deserving KC causes.
