Cracker Barrel tried to update its logo to a newer, simpler version, announced on Aug. 19, 2025 to get more younger people interested. But it didn’t go well. People online freaked out, and even regulars in the stores were mad. They said it didn’t feel like Cracker Barrel anymore.
Employee and senior at PCHS, Evelyn Reith, said that during the renovations, they painted the walls white instead of the usual dark wood and took down a lot of the stuff from the ceiling. It made things look cleaner, but also less like the old Cracker Barrel everyone was used to.
“They kind of lost the feeling of the old Cracker Barrel, which is why people came for it,” Reith said.
They also mentioned that people came in looking for clothes with the old logo before it disappeared.
There were way more complaints than compliments, and the workers had to deal with all of it. Eventually, Cracker Barrel gave in and brought the old logo back on Aug. 26, 2025. They didn’t really make a big deal about it—they just did it quietly due to customer complaints and Donald Trump requesting it to go back to normal. Now, things have calmed down a bit, at least for the employees. Whether you like eating in a millennial grey place with no soul or a grandma’s dirty attic, one has gotta say this whole ordeal was a barrel of crushed crackers.
