It’s been a while since we’ve had a new food option in Platte City. Since the closing of Tanner’s Bar and Grill, it especially feels like we haven’t had good bar food. That’s where ‘25 graduate Evan MacCuish and his father come in to play. The opening of The Cove has been a refreshing experience for the Platte City food scene.
Since the closing of Country Cookin’ in August of 2014, the building has sat vacant until the opening of the Cove…and it’s in the perfect place. Right between the residential and commercial area of Platte City? Perfect.
The Cove has a wide variety of items on its menu, mostly focusing on bar and grill food. Their main entree is the pizzas. The Cove also has very prevalent roots with Platte City. Evan MacCuish was a wrestler for Platte County High School and named a pizza after his wrestling coach. “The Burress” reps a hefty serving of meat featuring pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, ground beef, and bacon. Several of the other pizzas pay homage to Platte County High School, such as the “The Skull & Bones” (Veggie pizza) or “The Lookout” (Pepperoni).
The Cove features several TVs, all featuring different sports games for any sports fan.
Around the restaurant, you can find some sports memorabilia.
Overall, The Cove offers a great selection of food items, a great atmosphere, and a fun place for anyone of any age to go to.
You can find The Cove on 524 Branch St. or learn more at their website.
