We all know someone who paints or draws. Not everyone does it as uniquely as sophomore Beckett Norris does, though. He is pushing the boundaries between art and just splashing paint. Yet somehow, it all beautifully blends into one painting.
When asked what his main influences were for his art, he listed 5 artists – Jean Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Poshgod, and David Lynch. You might recognize David Lynch as the director of the Twin Peaks series, or Jean Michel Basquiat as a newer artist famous for his crude, rough-esque painting.

Cat Called Karma
Beckett tells me the main inspiration behind his art is his own personal human experience. “It is more abstract and neo-expressionist,” in response to what differs his art from others, “[it] prioritizes a feeling or concept rather than a realistic or life-like image.”
The following paintings are some of my favorites that I hand-picked to show.

Untitled Skull

Untitled Graffiti

Eyes always see fountains
